Musical Garland
Here's a fun way to inspire your #littleflutists and #littlemusicians to practice at home over the holidays...or anytime of year! Cut out the rhythm pattern strips or create your own rhythms on the blank pages included. For a bright & vibrant anytime garland, use the rainbow strips instead. Print extra pages to create a longer garland.
Connect strips together by threading a strip through the first loop and then tape/glue/paste the next strip closed. By deciding what order to connect the rhythm strips, students can create their own song!
Once all the rhythm strips are connected, students can really unleash their creativity. Here are some ideas to get you started: clap or play the rhythms on a single
tone (yay for head joint-only fun!) or pick a note for each colour to compose a melody using notes you already know. Create an orchestra by having family members play the rhythms on percussive instruments. Homemade instruments are always fun. Pasta boxes are also great. The only limit is your imagination!!
Have fun and don't forget to share your creations with us so we can join in on all the #littleflutefun! Tag us on Instagram @flute.play & on Facebook @fluteplayfun
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season filled with family, good health, and lots of music!
