The Snowflake Game
The Snowflake Game is a quick and easy way to practice identifying notes. The game takes between 5 to 10 minutes to play and includes all the notes introduced in the Blocki Flute Method Book 1.
To prepare, print the tree game board, the snowflake sheet, and the flashcards. When printing the flashcards, you may choose to use the snowflake pattern page for the reverse. Twim along the dotted lines and laminate if you like. Scatter the snowflakes all over the tree game board and place the flash cards face down in a pile. I like to choose 8 to 12 cards to focus on in one game.
To play, take turns picking a card from the top of the pile. If it is correctly identified, the player gets to keep the number of snowflakes indicated on the flashcard. At the end of each turn, return the card to the bottom of the pile. Continue until all the snowflakes have been collected. Whoever has collected the most snowflakes wins!
Happy playing!
